The 6000 sq. foot dome structures are Prama’s most distinctive feature, including a 1300 sq. foot meeting space. The domes are designed according to the original Buckminster Fuller architectural specifications, featuring bamboo floors with in-floor, passive solar heating, air conditioning, and space for up to 35 yoga mats or 100 chairs. It is the ideal space for yoga, dance, music, performances, or other educational events.
The living quarters at Prama include four cozy dorm rooms with 28 custom-built bunk beds in total, as well as three private rooms in the main building and three others within short walking distance. There is also a large deck with panoramic view for outdoor sessions, and three separate break-out rooms for smaller meetings.
The dining area, including the upstairs loft, comfortably feeds sixty-five, with outdoor room for up to 130 during the warm months. Our gourmet, vegetarian chefs produce three delicious meals each day of your stay, using as much locally produced and organic ingredients as possible.
An outdoor deck with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills provide space for outdoor dining or workshops. The amphitheatre stage next to the dome is the ideal location for any warm weather performance. We have hosted Asheville’s own Free Planet Radio with multiple Grammy Award Winning bass player Eliot Wadopian, among others. The retreat center is surrounded by over 100 acres of forested hills and valleys. Trails winding through the land can take you to the interesting sights and projects in the area.
